About the artist Monika Lang
Born in 1978 in Sombor. She graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade in the field of books and book arts. As a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, she is mainly involved in projects in the field of culture and publishing. Co-founder and member of the design group Turbosutra, with which she has been continuously involved in creative and exhibition work since 2006, and whose most famous project is the “Cheap Pea Laser Summit.” From 2011 to 2018, she was a lecturer of illustration, book layout and poster at the Department of Urban Design of the Faculty of Art and Design. Book cover design is one of her favorite forms of expression.
About the “Island”
A magical place. Once upon a time, there was a town where every house had a different color. Which made it easier for pirates, who were often on their thief trips, to know exaclty who lived where. That’s why the inhabitants decided to paint all the houses in white. And they lived happily ever after.
